Georgia officers fire at suspect driving towards them
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is looking into an officer-involved shooting after two Henry County officers fired at a suspect vehicle driving straight toward them.
A release from the GBI says the two officers tried to make a traffic stop around 1:26 a.m. Saturday on I-75. The suspect reportedly drove away, and officers followed the person to the cul-de-sac on Autumn Lake Dr. in McDonough where it stopped.
The officers walked up to the vehicle, but the suspect reportedly started driving toward them. The officers fired at the vehicle, but the driver continued past them and the vehicle was later found - without the driver - on Head Lane in McDonough.
The GBI says it will continue with its investigation which will be turned over to the Henry County District Attorney's Office for review.
