Georgia police get in shootout with 3 people during stolen car chase
TUCKER, Ga. (AP) — Police say three people had jumped out of a stolen car and exchanged gunfire with officers during a pursuit in metro Atlanta.
DeKalb County police spokesman Sgt. E. McCown tells news outlets that officers are searching for two of the people, as they detained one man early Thursday. He wasn't struck by the officers' gunfire, but police don't know if the other two were wounded. No officers were injured.
McCown says a taxi driver had been robbed of his phone, wallet and cab while waiting for a passenger at an apartment complex. He says police saw the car and started chasing it before the three people inside crashed in Tucker. They traded gunshots with officers and ran away.
It's unclear if the detained man will be charged with a crime.
