WARNER ROBINS, Ga.-Kids Wish Network and Air Force Command, Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins joined forces on Saturday to celebrate children of military members. These two organizations hosted a celebration for about 950 children.

Twelve-year-old Ethan Bender says his dad is his hero.

“I am very proud to have a father that would risk his life to go into war for my family and for our country," Bender said.

Bender's dad is in the Air Force Reserve Command.

Senior Master Sergeant Jackie Zawada said those who serve aren't the only true heroes.

“No child puts their hand up. No child says yes I am going to do the military life. They are brought along with their parents," Zawada said.

In order to thank these children, the organization's leaders held the Kids Wish Network Project Toy Drop. This was an event where children of military members went to the base and collected toys and educational games.

Zawada said this was the first toy drive at Warner Robins Air Force Base but hopefully not the last.
