MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is looking for the suspect(s) involved in the theft of a handgun and other items from several vehicles in downtown Macon.
A sheriff's report said deputies went to Ashley Towers apartment complex, located at 363 New St., around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to talk with the victims.
One of the victims reportedly said someone smashed out the passenger window of his Toyota 4 Runner that morning and stole the following items:
- Wallet (containing driver's license, Chase credit card, gift card and cash)
- Phenazepam (prescription medication)
- Smith & Wesson .38 special model 642
- Black holster
The victim said he found sunglasses in yellow case in his vehicle that didn't belong to him which were sent to the crime lab, the report said.
A total of three vehicles were allegedly broken into early Tuesday morning at Ashley Towers apartments, although the report didn't contain information on anything that might have been stolen from the other two vehicles since their owners weren't on scene at the time.
