MACON, Ga. -- Rain is projected to move into Middle Georgia this weekend. As of Friday morning our best chance for heavy rain is overnight Saturday into Sunday afternoon.
We could see high temperatures return to the mid to upper 50's this afternoon. A few more clouds could move in during the afternoon, but rain is not expected.
The latest forecast keeps the rain to our north in the first half of Saturday. Light to moderate rainfall will move in during the mid afternoon. Heavier rain and strong winds will move in overnight.
Rain totals are projected to reach 2-3 inches across the mid-state. Wind gusts will also reach 25-30 mph late Saturday. No severe weather is expected, but flooding is possible in the areas that saw significant rainfall last weekend.
The rain should lighten up by Monday. Sleet does not look as likely, but cannot be ruled out especially if we see rain continuing into Monday night.
