High humidity will lead to rain and thunderstorms today
MACON, Ga. -- Humidity has built up quickly over the past day. These muggy conditions will lead to some rain and warmer temperatures later today.
The heat and humidity will be the main story of today's weather. High temperatures will be back around the mid 90's today. If you factor in the expected sunshine and rising humidity it will feel closer to 100 in the warmest times in the afternoon.
Isolated rain is also possible during the afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible, but severe weather is unlikely today.
Tomorrow's temperature will fall a degree or two, but it will feel warmer than Wednesday. The heat index is likely to top out over 100 degrees during most of the afternoon. Pop-up showers and thunderstorms are likely to move in during the afternoon. Overnight lows will fall to a muggy 71-74 degrees.
