Historic Bowden Golf Course to begin $340,000 renovations in April
MACON, Ga. -- Macon's historic Bowden Golf Course will soon be undergoing renovations.
At a public forum on Monday, staff presented renovation plans for the course, which are estimated to cost around $340,000.
The project includes new greens, tees and most of the bunkers.
The staff hopes the new upgrades will improve members' overall golfing experience. They say that members care about the course and want to see it grow.
General manager Brandon Doles said, "It's great to see these people care about this golf course. And you know, I came here and my mission was to make this golf course work and that is what I am going to do."
Renovations are expected to start in April. During this time a portion of the course will be closed.
Management hopes to reopen the course to golfers before the grand reopening in July of this year.
