Historic Macon Foundation to hold inaugural spring flea market
MACON, Ga. -- Historic Macon will hold its inaugural Flea Market Sale to raise funds to support Historic Macon Foundation's (HMF) work in revitalizing area neighborhoods.
The sale will be held on Saturday, April 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the warehouse at 357 Oglethorpe St. and will feature a variety of household items, including furniture, antiques, children's today, gardening items, linen, kitchen goods and more.
Volunteers have worked all year long to sort donations for the spring sale. Usually, HMF hold its flea market in the fall but will open the warehouse for a spring sale because of a rise in donations.
“It’s so encouraging to see the community give to our cause, year round,” said Janis Haley, 2018 Flea Market Chair. “Donations have been pouring in and show no signs of slowing down! What a great problem to have. Every week, us volunteers are blown away by how many new donations came in. Hopefully, this Spring Sale will make room for the donations we anticipate receiving through the summer.”
The flea market is HMF's most important traditions and has been held for over 40 years.
Out of every $1 spent at the flea market, $.93 goes back into HMF's mission.
