HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- The Houston County community is rallying behind their fire chief and emergency management director, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is seeking treatment.
Mandy Stella with the mayor's office confirmed Chief Jimmy Williams' illness and added that he's "been a staple in our community and all our local fire departments (as well as others) want to show love and support for him and his family."
Fire officials said they want to bring the community together to support Williams and raise donations for his medical treatment.
The community can also donate to the Jimmy Williams Cancer Fund at Combined Employees Credit Union, located at 593 Russell Pkwy. in Warner Robins.
