Houston County man, 79, sentenced for murdering wife

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A 79-year-old Houston County man has been found guilty of felony murder.

The Houston County District Attorney's Office states that Harold "Bud" Seidenfaden was also found guilty of possessing a knife while committing a crime.

On February 7, 2021, investigators began looking into the death of 60-year-old Debra Seidenfaden. The investigation resulted in the arrest of her husband.

The evidence at trial showed that the couple had argued about Harold needing to schedule another shoulder surgery the next day, on February 8.

During the fight, Harold grabbed a knife and stabbed and cut his wife repeatedly.

Investigators recovered multiple knives from the scene that were stained with blood.

Seidenfaden waved his right to a jury trial and was sentenced by Judge GE Adams after the judge heard the evidence.

Judge Adams sentenced Seidenfaden to life in prison with the possibility of parole for felony murder. Seidenfaden was also sentenced to five years of probation consecutive to his life sentenced for possessing a knife while committing a crime.
