MACON, Ga. -- Many travelers are now forced to either cancel or reschedule trips thanks to Hurricane Irma.
Judy Norman with Classy Destinations Travel Agency in Macon said that they have been busier than normal this week.
A number of their clients had upcoming trips to Florida and the Caribbean planned, but those areas were hit hard by Irma.
As a result, Norman said some people opted to pick another destination. Others chose to call of their trips altogether.
This is one of the reasons Norman recommends travel insurance. With insurance, people get refunds for canceled trips.
Larry Lee said he and his wife had an anniversary trip planned in Key West, but along came Irma.
Fortunately, the couple bought travel insurance so they chose to wait until the area is back up and running.
For those with trips planned over the holidays, Norman advises them to just hold tight for now.
Since areas like the Caribbean rely heavily on tourism, they should rebuild quickly.
