UPDATE: Man injured in shooting into car in Warner Robins, police say
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — One person was injured after shots were fired into a car late Tuesday night at Evergreen Street in Warner Robins, police say.
According to Warner Robins Police Department's Chief John Wagner, just before midnight, a call came in for shots fired on the 200 block of Evergreen Street. An elementary school is nearby.
Upon arrival, four men in their 20s were sitting inside a Nissan Versa parked in the front yard of a residence. The windows were shattered and the car had bullet holes -- as did the Evergreen Street home.
According to police, a 24-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injures after being stuck by shattering glass. He was transported to the Houston Medical Center in stable condition.
At the time of the shooting, there was an additional person in the home. However, no one else was injured in the shooting.
The victims all say they never saw anyone drive by or a person walk past the home.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective James Nix at (478) 302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
WGXA caught up with neighborhood residents Wednesday afternoon.
"There was, I mean, like 30 shots that rang out," said Mike Thompson, who lives nearby the shooting. "I mean, it's bad. Like I said, it's nothing new over here. But that many in a row -- it's real close to home, so it's a little scary."
"People ain't got no sense," another neighbor said. "They don't care about other people. They don't even care about they're own self."
