Macon-Bibb County official websites hacked

    MACON, Ga--After an apparent hack several of Macon-Bibb County's official websites, county IT workers have restored the sites.

    The county noticed the sites were hacked this morning after several people informed the county.

    The sites that were hacked include Macon-Bibb’s main site, Sheriff’s Office site, Pedestrian Safety Review Board site, SPLOST site, and the county HR’s Wellness site.

    You can see a picture of what the websites showed during the hack attached to this story.

    In a statement Macon-Bibb County said that their IT team began working on it at around 10:00 a.m.

    By about 1:30 p.m. all five fo the sites had been restored.

    "At this point, they have not found evidence that data and information has been compromised; they will continue to investigate this matter until fully satisfied." the statement read.
