MACON, Ga. -- Macon-Bibb Fire officials rescued 11 and 10-year-old girls and their dog who were trapped by rising water at Walnut Creek Sunday night.

Fire officials got the call around 7:30 p.m.

Officials say the kids and dog were playing near Walnut Creek across from Graham Rd. when rising water from Sunday's storms trapped them on a rock. That's where officials rescued them safely.

Officials say both children and the dog were OK and uninjured. The kids were taken to Navicent Health and checked out as a precaution.
