MACON, Ga. -- Bibb County deputies have arrested 30-year-old Marquis Antonio Simmons, of Macon, in connection to a financial card fraud investigation.

A sheriff's release says that someone stole a "fleet" credit card from the Five Star Automotive Group in Macon. The card was reportedly used over 320 times in a week.

The suspect bought gasoline with the card, and the charges totaled over $15,000, the release says. A "fleet" credit card can only be used for gasoline purchases.

In a Facebook post, Simmons reportedly told his friends that if they met him at the gas station, he'd fill up their tanks with a credit card. His friends would pay him for half of the total cost to fill up their vehicle's tanks, according to the release.

Investigators identified Simmons through surveillance video and by posts on his Facebook page. Warrants were issued for his arrest, and Simmons was found at his house and taken into custody just at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Simmons is at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond on 320 charges of financial transaction card fraud.

Anyone with information into these incidents are urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask for the “On-Call” Property Investigator.
