MACON, Ga. -- Civil rights leader Naomi King spent Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with youth in Macon.

King joined an MLK Day celebration themed "Branches of a Dream" with Macon's Adopt-A-Role-Model Program to continue Dr. King's legacy.

"I just want to appeal to the children to first of all to know who they are and to be comfortable with there skin color, and I want them to have a good education starting very early," King said.

Kids shared art and heard King speak during the event, held in Macon's Pleasant Hill neighborhood.
