Man arrested for stealing $4K worth of Monroe Co. street signs
MONROE CO., Ga. -- Deputies say a man is in custody Monday accused of stealing approximately $4,000 worth of Monore County street signs and posts in the last two months.
Frankie D. Breeding, 39, of Forsyth is in Monroe County Jail charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. He is being held on $7,500 bond.
Monday, deputies and investigators served a search warrant on Old Union Gin Road in northern Monroe County. They found Breeding with 10 county road signs, 14 stop signs and 23 sign posts valued at approximately $4,000.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that more than 70 signs in total were stolen worth more than $11,000.
Deputies also asked for the public's assistance on Thursday in catching a suspect.
