MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- The GBI is investigating after a man was shot by Bibb County Deputies outside the Tindall Senior Towers assisted living complex on Felton Avenue.

According to Sheriff David Davis, the man was wanted in connection to a November 2022 homicide and was spotted in a vehicle on Houston Avenue at around 4:30 on Wednesday afternoon.

Davis says that plain-clothes deputies and a uniformed deputy followed him into a dead-end driveway on Felton Avenue. One of the deputies said he felt threatened and shot him. Davis said that they found a gun that they believe to belong to the man following the shooting.

Davis continued to say that there was a child in the vehicle at the time of the shooting and that deputies were aware that the child was present. The child was uninjured during the shooting.
