Man on the run after leading GSP troopers on late night chase
MACON, Ga. -- A man is at large after leading Georgia State Patrol troopers on a chase late Wednesday night.
According to Corporal Michael Burns out of the Forsyth GSP post, a trooper attempted to stop a male suspect driving a 2018 black Toyota Camary along I-16 westbound just after 11 p.m.
Troopers say the suspect refused to stop, then crashed near the exit ramp at Second Street before he took off running away from the scene.
Bibb deputies also assisted with the incident, but were unable to locate the man who troopers say they lost track of near the Macon River Walk of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.
Deputies say they recovered two stolen guns in the car.
