Mercer University lifts required masks on fully vaccinated students, staff

MACON, Ga. -- Mercer University is changing its face mask requirements in response to recent CDC guidelines.

The CDC announced that those that are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks except for in cases such as public transportation, hospitals, and private businesses that require it.

The University in response will no longer require fully vaccinated students, faculty, and staff to wear masks in indoor and outdoor spaces on campus, except at the Student Health Centers in Macon and Atlanta.

The school says that health sciences students and employees in clinical settings may be required to wear masks, even if vaccinated.

"We will continue to exempt fully vaccinated students and employees from COVID-19 surveillance testing," said the University.
