Monroe Co. celebrates schools' success at first State of Education
MONROE CO., Ga. -- The Monroe County Board of Education held its first annual State of Education Address and luncheon.
It took place at the Monroe County Fine Arts Center from noon-1 p.m.
Superintendent Mike Hickman took time to celebrate some of Monroe County's success so far.
"We've done really good in academics," he said. "I think our CCR pi scores, which we will actually advertise today, are some of top in middle Georgia. We actually rank 19th out of 192 school districts in the state of Georgia, so we are really pleased with that and that's a testament to our students our parents and obviously to our teachers."
