MACON, Ga. -- The Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital is adding finishing touches to it float for the Main Street Macon Christmas Parade on December 4.
Officials said this is the first time in several years that they've participated in the parade.
Parade goers can expect to see the float's new gigantic holiday sleigh, and there's one reason the hospital wanted to take part in this year's parade.
"When you think of Christmas, you think of family. You think of children, and what better yet people who we serve is our children. We wanted to make sure the Children's Hospital Navicent Health was a part of that Christmas spirit and was also a part of the parade," said Missi Upshaw, pediatric service line director.
Officials said children's hospital employees and their children will be riding in the new holiday sleigh.
Anyone who can't be at the parade in person can watch it online starting at 4 p.m. at WGXA.TV and on our Facebook page. WGXA will also be air the parade again on FOX24 on Monday, December 5 at 6 p.m.
