MACON, Ga. -- The Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital at Navicent Health is one step closer to completion.

On Monday the hospital held its topping off ceremony at the construction site.

There was a big celebration as workers installed the final steel beams into the building's frame.

Ellen Terrell, Chief Development Officer at Navicent Health, said, "Lots of little ones come through our doors, so by building this brand new facility it over doubles our square footage and allows us to bring all the pediatric services under one roof and allows us to grow our pediatric services and to be able to serve even more children in the central and south Macon area."

The new pediatric addition is expected to open in 2019.
