New bank, condos could be headed for historic downtown Macon lot

MACON, Ga. - An empty lot on downtown Macon's Mulberry Street could be home to a new bank and condominiums if a new plan is approved by the Macon-Bibb Planning and Zoning department.

According to the proposal, the site was home to Cassidy's Garage and included an auto service station and parking deck. The lot is now vacant.

Developers want to build a bank with a drive-thru lane on the ground floor. The second through sixth floors will include two residential condiminiums per floor for a total of ten units. Each condo will be a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit and will be approximately 2,400 square feet. Each unit will have a balcony. The roof will have a 2,800 square foot roof deck.

No name for the bank has been given.

A decision is expected at the July 9, 2018 Macon-Bibb Planning and Zoning meeting.
