MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office has released new details in the deputy-involved shooting at Tindall Fields apartments.
In a release by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, investigators said they followed 30-year-old Anthony Donnell Baldwin Jr. in an unmarked vehicle, without lights or sirens on.
Investigators said they were attempting to locate a person wanted in connection to a November 14, 2022, homicide case. The victim, in that case, was identified as Claudette Brown.
Baldwin was driving a Checy Yukon on Hoston Avenue that deputies said was reported stolen with a tag that belonged to another vehicle.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop after Baldwin drove to the Tindall Fields Apartments.
Deputies said Baldwin exited the SUV with a gun and that is when a deputy shot at and struck Baldwin.
Baldwin was immediately treated by deputies until emergency medical services arrived and he was then transported to Atrium Health where he is listed in stable condition.
No one else was reported injured during the incident.
