UPDATE: Man, 23, killed in Warner Robins restaurant robbery
WARNER ROBINS, Ga -- The Warner Robins police department is investigating a shooting at Barberitos restaurant that left one person dead and another injured shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday evening. Police are also investigating whether this homicide is related to the homicide at Chevron on Jan. 13.
Warner Robins police said Monday the Barberitos homicide victim is Parker K. Moore, 23, of Kathleen.
Investigation so far reveals the suspect entered the restaurant on Watson Boulevard from the back, confronted the work staff of three and demanded money from the register. While attempting to retrieve the money, the suspect shot at a 21-year-old male worker from Centerville.
He suffered a wound to the head, was transported to Navicent Health and is recovering. He gave his account to a detective.
Warner Robins police says after retrieving the money, the suspect fired a shot that hit and killed Moore. He then ran from the scene.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6 foot tall, wearing dark clothing and a face covering.
Detectives are not ruling out any relationship between the Chevron homicide case and Barberitos, as the suspect in the Chevron case has similar features -- black male, skinny, 6-foot tall, dark clothing and partially covering his face.
Anyone with any information should contact Detective Justin Clark at (478) 302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
Warner Robins is now up to three homicide for the year.
