The Pedestrian Fatality Review Board met Tuesday for discussion.
Board members and guests circled the room to discuss ways to prevent pedestrian fatalities in Macon-Bibb County.
Most of the discussion focused on finding ways to target different groups of people, young and old, to raise more awareness and education about the fact that people and bikes share the roadways.
Before the next meeting, conversations will be had with the Department of Public Health, the school system and law enforcement about possible partnerships.
"To do an educational program or a safety program into the schools cause you start educating at one level, it seems to set in a little harder into the minds of people as they get older," said board chair Capt. Eric Walker.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17th.
