PERRY, Ga. -- Perry High School is getting a new look!

On Saturday, the high school held a dedication of a new panther statue.

The panther was donated by the Class of 1961.

Linda Smith with the Class of '61 said they decided as a group that the statue would fit perfectly in the front part of the school.

"We decided as a group/ class, that we wanted to do something for the school that would be nice and they could remember the class of '61," said Smith.

Crowds gathered for the dedication and light refreshments were served.

Smith said the Class of '61 still meets for reunions every two years.
