Rain causes early morning accidents on I-75 in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Ga -- Early Thursday morning the Monroe County Emergency Services responded to several accidents on I-75 caused by the rain.

The MCES posted to their Facebook page, "It’s raining, the roads are wet, and everyone is driving fast. We’ve responded to several wrecks this morning. Please slow down in this inclement weather, and allow for more distance between vehicles."

The first accident involved a car and that one happened near mile marker 176 in Monroe County.

The second accident involved a truck and that one was near mile marker 181.

At this time the drivers are okay.

The MCES would like to remind all drivers to slow down in the rain and always be aware of your surroundings.
