MACON, Ga. -- Cloudy skies began moving in over the weekend. Middle Georgia did not see much rain on Sunday, but Monday and Tuesday will feature solid rain chances.
Two fronts will move through the mid-state between Monday and Tuesday. A warm front will pass us by on Monday evening. This will allow our temperatures on Tuesday to stretch into the lower 70's. Since we will be in the lower 70's Tuesday a few thunderstorms could pop-up in the afternoon before the cold front moves through.
Monday's rain will mostly be drizzle. A few pockets of light showers still have a chance of moving in, but overall the heavier rain will be saved for Tuesday.
Light to moderate rain is likely to move in Tuesday morning. Heavy rain and even a couple thunderstorms will make their way into our area in the middle of the afternoon tomorrow.
Severe weather is not expected. Heavy rain and strong wind is still possible. Wind gusts could be as high as 30-35 mph along the frontal boundary.
Between today and tomorrow, rain totals will reach around 1/2 an inch at most for Middle Georgia. A few areas could see a bit more if a thunderstorm develops.
