Rain will be moving in this weekend

Here is the system that will move into our area this weekend.

MACON, Ga. -- Friday will be sunny and dry, but that will change overnight. More clouds will build up late Friday and early Saturday ahead of some solid rain chances.

Saturday morning and afternoon will be cloudy with a few passing showers. The rain is projected to move in during the evening. Most of the rain will be light to moderate with only a few pockets of heavier rain.

The rain totals from this system will not be anything like what we have seen over the last few weeks. On average Middle Georgia will see between 1/4 and 1/2 inches of rain. Areas north of Macon could see more than 1/2 an inch of rain.

The rain will come to an end in the early afternoon Sunday, but a few lingering showers will be possible in the evening.

Snow and other wintry precipitation is not expected in Middle Georgia. However some sleet is possible in the northeastern part of our state.

Stick with us all weekend for the latest on the incoming rain.
