MACON, Ga. -- An accident backed up traffic in both directions on I-75 Wednesday afternoon.

An R.V. sideswiped two light poles while traveling south bound near the Mercer University Drive exit in Macon around 2:15 p.m.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the 68-year-old driver of a 2008 Winnebago Motorhome reached for his cell phone and the vehicle fishtailed.

Debris from the poles fell in the northbound lanes and two lanes were blocked off in each direction.

One Bibb County deputy said there were only minor injuries and that the passengers were shaken up.

He also said the driver's dogs ran out of the RV as soon as they stopped the vehicle, but were found a short while later.

Authorities are still cleaning up the accident.

WGXA is waiting on an official report from the Sheriff's Office.
