School supplies donated to Middle Georgia students
Majority of the children around Middle Georgia will be heading back to school the first week of August.
The Nece Hopson Memorial Foundation donated and distributed schools supplies Saturday morning at Tabor Academy.
Organizers say it's a way to give back to the community and help families in need.
Brenda Hopson, with the Nece Hopson Memorial Foundation, says they "provide to every student that comes on the particular day that we give out the school supplies; we may not provide enough for the whole year, but we try to provide enough supplies to get them to start school."
Students who came were given a bag full of goodies, including pencils, paper and notebooks so that they're prepared for school.
Over 350 students from Peach County, Houston County and surrounding areas came out to receive donations.
