Suspect steals cash, 50 cigarette cartons from downtown Macon gas station
MACON, Ga. -- Bibb County deputies are looking for a suspect in connection to a burglary that happened at the Spring St. Sunoco gas station near downtown Macon on Tuesday.
A sheriff's report says that deputies went to the gas station in reference to a commercial alarm and noticed that the front door looked like it had been pried open.
The report says the unknown suspect appeared to have entered the store's supply room and damaged some wiring and electrical components.
The suspects also went behind the front counter and reportedly stole 50 cartons of Newport cigarettes and a black cash drawer with an undisclosed amount of money.
The manger told deputies that one of the security system's hard drives were taken and that there was extensive damage done to the components.
