Two arrested in Macon Flea Market burglary
MACON, Ga.-- Two men are behind bars after Bibb Deputies say they tried breaking into the Macon Flea Market early Tuesday morning.
Investigators say it happened just after 12 a.m. as deputies responded to a call of someone trying to make entry into the business.
Deputies say when they arrived they noticed a man running from the back entrance of the business Alexander Ballroom located on Eisenhower Parkway. A second man then appeared at the exit and also ran.
Deputies were able to catch the first suspect after a brief foot chase and the second suspect was caught after being found in a vehicle parked behind Taco Bell.
It was later found that the suspects made their way into the Alexandria Ballroom and begin to cut through the wall into the Macon Flea Market.
Deputies have arrested Don Winsor Re, 47, of Macon and Thomas Joshua Williamson, 28, of Byron in connection to the incident. Both men are being held in the Bibb County jail and now face several charges including Burglary, Conspiracy to commit a felony, Criminal damage to property, Possession of tools for commission of a crime and Criminal attempt to commit a felony.
