UPDATE: Macon brothers, 14 and 10, killed at Milledgeville mudding event

UPDATE -- Monday 1 p.m.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Georgia State Patrol says the family who lost two children in Saturday night's accident at South Creek Mud Boggin' in Milledgeville is from Macon.

GSP on Monday said the Moore family's two sons -- a 14-year-old and 10-year-old -- were killed when a car malfunctioned and went through a barricade.

GSP added the boys were not in a spectator area and that the family believed they were playing in a field out back.

A third child -- believed to be 11-years-old -- remains in the Medical Center Navicent Health with serious injuries.

GSP and deputies continue to investigate.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee confirms the two victims in Saturday's fatal mud bogging accident were brothers. Massee said a third victim with serious injuries was flown to the Medical Center Navicent Health Saturday as well.

South Creek Mud Boggin in Milledgeville posted this message to its Facebook page early Sunday:

According to Baldwin County Coroner John Gonzalez, two young people are dead after a mudding accident at South Creek Mud Boggin in Milledgeville.

Gonzalez said the victims are a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old.

He said they were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Gonzalez said he believes a truck in the mudding event ran into the audience at around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, but he said official confirmation will have to come from law enforcement.

Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee said the Georgia State Patrol is now handling the investigation.
