MACON, Ga. -- A second Macon dollar store was robbed at gun point on Friday.

Lt. Randy Gonzalez with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office confirmed that two men robbed the Houston Ave. Dollar General just after 3 p.m.

He said that two black males entered the store wearing black clothes and had red bandannas covering their faces. Both men brandished handguns at store employees.

One man watched the employees while the other took an undisclosed amount of money from a cash register, according to Gonzalez.

It was reported that both men fled from the store on foot.

The incident is still under investigation.

A man also robbed the Family Dollar on Rocky Creek Road around 9:30 Friday morning.

Gonzalez said that investigators are looking into the recent string of armed robberies.

"That's something they'll look at with these commercial robberies to see if there's any relation as far as suspects or anything else that might be related," Gonzalez said.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
