Two rob Macon business with semi-automatic pistol, get away with cash


MACON, Ga. -- Authorities in Macon are searching for two men who they say robbed at Macon business at gunpoint Tuesday morning.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the armed robbery happened at the Gulf Store on Napier Avenue just after 10 a.m.

It was reported that two men approached an employee while he was outside of the store then forced the employee back inside at gunpoint and demanded money.

At some point, the employee was hit over the head with the gun. He was later taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

After getting money from the employee, the two men ran out of the store.

A Bibb Deputy was nearby and pulled up to the store as one of the suspects was running from it. The deputy chased the man but lost him.

One of the men is described as a black male about six feet in height who was wearing dark colored pants and a sweatshirt around his head and face. He was armed with a semi-automatic pistol.

The second man is also described as a black male. He reportedly ran from the store in a westbound direction toward Napier Avenue.
