Two suspects on the run after robbing Marathon gas station in south Macon


MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that happened in south Macon Thursday night.

According to a release from the sheriff's office, the robbery took place at the Marathon gas station located at 4505 Broadway around 7:43 p.m.

The release states that after two men went into the store, a masked suspect brandishing a gun demanded money from the register, while the other suspect waited at the door.

The suspects fled the store down Guy Paine Rd., headed towards Houston Ave., after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

Both suspects are described as slender black men, one standing around 5'7" and the other around 5'9".

The release states that the masked suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored mask, black coat and dark colored pants.

The suspect who stood at the door was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, a hooded grey sweatshirt and a dark colored coat over his sweatshirt.
