Waffle House in Macon robbed at gunpoint
MACON, Ga. -- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the Waffle House, located at 3620 Riverside Drive.
The incident that took place at around 3:49a.m. Wednesday morning.
It was reported that a masked male suspect flashed a handgun as he entered the restaurant. The suspect jumped over the counter and demanded money from the cash register. Once the suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the store. No one was injured during this incident.
The suspect ran out of the store and fled in a 2010-2014 Honda Civic but it's unknown in which direction the suspect fled. The vehicle was blue in color and was missing both front hubcaps.
The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 220 to 250 lbs. The suspect was wearing a white V-neck styled shirt, dark colored blue jeans, a black colored 'do rag' on his head and a blue colored bandanna covering his face.
Investigators believe that the suspect was also involved in the attempted armed robbery that took place at the Citgo gas station, located on Rocky Creek Rd, earlier Wednesday morning.
