Florida runaway teens spotted in Bibb County

Two Florida runaways were spotted Friday in Bibb County.

According to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call of a saddled horse running down Bass Road Friday morning at about 9:00. After she was located, the horse's owner reported someone trying to steal horses and several saddles from her barn that morning. The horses were recovered.

A Honda Accord with a Florida tag was parked behind the barn from where the horses were taken. Deputies ran the tag information and found that the vehicle was not stolen, but a 16 year old missing female could possibly be occupying the vehicle.

A Bibb Sheriff's Patrol Deputy who assisted in the attempted horse theft investigation located two juveniles walking down Bass Road. He stopped and identified the runaway female, 16-year-old Brittany Carter and her 16-year-old boyfriend, Carlos Bernal.

After identifying the two teens, he asked if they wanted to get out of the heat and sit in his car. The two teens ran towards the wooded area near the Providence subdivision. Deputies searched the area for several hours in an attempt to locate the teens. The Sheriff's Office received several calls from the public as the teens darted in and out of the woods near the Providence subdivision.

Brittany Carter is described as a white female, 5 feet 3 inches in height and weighing around 110 lbs. She has brown eyes and extremely long brown hair and is likely wearing a black color tank top and blue jean shorts.

Carlos Bernal is described as a white/possibly Hispanic male. He is 5 feet 6 inches in height and weighs around 125 lbs. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. No further description at this time.

Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of these two teens is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500 or call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
