Woman killed, two men hospitalized in head-on collision wreck in Houston County

UPDATE 4:25 p.m.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Captain Harlow reports that two people are hospitalized and another was killed in a traffic accident on the 400 block of Dunbar Road.

Harlow reports there were two pick-up trucks that were in a head-on collision. One pick-up truck had a driver, a woman, and a passenger, a man.

The other truck had only a driver, a man, inside.

The truck with two occupants had the man transported to Macon for treatment while the woman did not survive the accident.

The driver of the other truck was also transported to Macon for medical treatment.

The identity of the fatal victim will be identified once the next of kin is notified.

Harlow expects the scene to be cleared within the next hour.

Avoiding the area is still advised at this time.

UPDATE 3:05 p.m.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. -- According to Captain Harlow there were two vehicles involved in a wreck on Dunbar Road between Carl Vinson Parkway and North Houston Road.

He says the call to the Sheriff's Office came in around 1:27 p.m.

Harlow reports there are some injuries reported. He is unsure of the severity at this time and says he is still awaiting more information from first responders.

He reports there are occupants from the wreck that are being transported for medical treatment.

Captain Harlow is asking residents to avoid the area as it will be backed up for a while.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga.. -- Houston County first responders are on the scene of a traffic accident on Dunbar Road.

WGXA crews report that Houston County deputies are on the scene and there are two cars with vehicle damage.

There is an ambulance on the scene as well.

Deputies have blocked off Fairground Boulevard to Sullivan Road on Dunbar Road.

Taking an alternate route is advised.

WGXA is reaching out to authorities for updates.
