TUSCALOOSA, Al -- A historic trip to Tuscaloosa resulted in defeat for Bobby Lamb's Mercer Bears as the orange and black fell 56-0 to top-ranked Alabama.

The Crimson Tide racked up 530 total yards while holding the Bears to 161 while forcing three Kaelan Riley interceptions. Tide QB Jalen Hurts finished the day 7-7 for 180 yards with three touchdowns including a 66-yard scoring strike to Calvin Ridley in the second quarter.

Mercer QB Kaelan Riley finished the day 6-19 for 44 yards while tossing three interceptions. Tee Mitchell paced the Bears on the ground with 57 yards on 17 carries with a highlight-worthy 21-yard first down run.

Despite the total yardage, the Mercer defense was able to force two fumbles for their 24th and 25th takeaways of the season.

Mercer finishes the season 5-6 overall. Alabama improves to 11-0. The Tide travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium next week to face rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
