Bears receive votes in latest AP poll
MACON, Ga. -- The Mercer women's basketball team is starting to get some national recognition. The Bears received three points in this week's Associated Press top 25 poll.
The Bears received three points by the voters, giving them the 36th most in the country. Connecticut came in at No. 1 with 800 points.
Mercer (20-2, 7-0) has won 17 straight games and are in first place in the Southern Conference. Head coach Susie Gardner's team has the 21st-ranked highest average scoring margin with 16 points per game.
Kahlia Lawrence and KeKe Calloway are ranked No. 1 and 2 in the conference in scoring.
The Bears host Furman (13-9, 3-4) on Thursday at Hawkins Arena.
