Georgia College Baseball comes from behind against Flagler

Bobcats scored 3 in the 7th to get the win./(A.J. Good WGXA)

The Georgia College Baseball team needed some late inning heroics to pick up their series opening win on Friday. The Bobcats scored 3 in the bottom of the 7th and shutout the Saints the rest of the way to pick up a 8-7 win. Georgia College is now 28-8 overall and 20-2 in the Peach Belt Conference.

The Bobcats got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st scoring 3 runs off of hits from Matthew Miller, Brandon Purcell, and Brandt Stallings. The Saints countered in the top of the 2nd scoring 4. The Bobcats answered in the bottom of the 4th scoring off a sac fly from Brender Holler then a double from Cal Gentry to make it a 5-4 game. Flager got 3 runs to in top of the 7th to make it a 7-5 game. In the bottom of the 7th, the Bobcats got a RBI single from Nate Schmal, then a 2 run homer from Purcell to take the 8-7 lead. Bradley Cammack picked up the win going 3 and a third innings while giving up just 4 hits and no runs.

Up next, the two will have a double header to conclude the series on Saturday. First pitch will be at 1 pm.
