The game might've started late due to graduation ceremonies all day on campus, but the Mercer bats took no time to heat up on Saturday night in their series finale with Alcorn State. The Bears rolled past the Braves 19-1 in 7 innings to pick up the 3 game sweep. Mercer is now 34-18 overall.

The Bears were led by Brandon Michie who went 2 for 3 with a homer, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs. Senior Steven Taylor went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and his 1st career home run. Alex Crotty chipped in with 4 RBIs, JT Thomas had 3 RBIs, and Trey Truitt had 2. Chase Burks started on the hill for Mercer going 3 innings while giving up just 1 hit and striking out 6. Carter Varga (1-0) got the win by going 1 inning and giving up 1 run off of 3 hits.

Up next, the Bears will host Georgia State on Tuesday night. First pitch is slated for 6 pm.
