Mercer pulls away from Jackson State for big win

MACON, Ga. -- A monster second-half effort lifted Mercer (2-1) to its second straight win as the Bears rolled Jackson State 86-58 Tuesday night at Hawkins Arena.

Leading by five at the break, the Bears outscored the Tigers by 23 in the second half to cruise to an easy victory.

Ria'n Holland paced the Bears with a game-high 19 points while Desmond Ringer chipped in with 14 points and 7 rebounds. All five starters reached double figures for the Bears as the orange and black shot a scorching 51% from the field including 82% at the free throw line.

Mercer travels to Liberty University Friday night.
