LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Another week, another postseason honor for Mercer baseball freshmen Le Bassett and R.J. Yeager.

Today, the National College Baseball Writer's Association named Bassett and Yeager to the 2018 Freshman All-American team. Both players were named second team All-Americans.

This marks the second time in as many weeks that these two Mercer freshman have received All-American honors. Last week they were also named to the College Baseball Freshman All-American team.

Yeager -- who was also named the Southern Conference freshman of the year -- hit .324 this season with 42 RBIs and 52 runs scored as Mercer's starting shortstop. He was also named to the SoCon's second team all conference.

Bassett established himself as one of the most feared bats in the SoCon this season, leading the conference with 17 home runs -- which also set the freshman record at Mercer. He also led the Bears with 60 RBIs in 2018.
