Mercer's Martineau named SoCon Player of the Year


The honors continue to roll on for Mercer Men's Soccer forward Trevor Martineau. The Texas native was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Year, as well as the Freshman of the year. He led the Bears with 9 goals and 25 points.

Martineau is joined on the All-SoCon first team by Leo Toledo Jr, Roberto Arteaga, Romario Thompson, and Kareve Richards. On the 2nd team was Kobe Perez, Josh Harrison, and JR Derose. Also, joining Martineau on the all freshman team is Jason Udom and Michael Ille.

Mercer went 12-3-2 in 2018 while winning the Southern Conference regular season title. Up next, the Bears will face UNCG in the tournament semifinals. Kickoff will be at 3:30 pm.
