Middle Georgia State Baseball falls in opening game of NAIA Tournament


The first game of the NAIA Baseball Tournament started off well for Middle Georgia State, but things went down hill in the later innings. The Knights fell to Antelope Valley 8-6 in the opening round of the Lincoln Regional. MGS held a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the 6th before the Pioneers took over.

The Knights were led by Trenton Nash who went 2 for 3 with a home run, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs. Zach Cornell went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and a run. The Pioneers comeback was led by Tyler Pittmon, Nathaniel Broaddus, and Geranimo Castenda who each had 2 RBIs.

Up next, MGS will face the Judson/William Jessup loser on Tuesday at 4 pm.
